Warrnambool is one of the larger circuits in Victorian racing, on the western district coast, and it is best known for something no other course here does: the Grand Annual Steeplechase, the longest race run on a public course in the country, taking its field out over obstacles and through open paddocks beyond the track proper. The three-day May carnival built around it is the club's year.

It is a provincial Turf course run anticlockwise in VIC. We hold 163 races from the track, with fields averaging 9.9 runners and 1400 metres the most commonly programmed trip. T.Dabernig has 21 wins from 117 runners, and Andy Win has won 3 of 4 starts.
