Privacy Policy
Plainly: what we collect, why, and what we don't do with it.
Who we are
VectorOdds ("we", "us") is an Australian thoroughbred racing analytics service. This policy explains how we handle personal information, consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- Account details — your username, email and password (stored only as a secure hash, never in plain text), and your subscription plan.
- How you use the product — the runners and races you follow (blackbook), the bets you track in your journal, and your saved preferences and settings.
- 18+ verification — a record that you've confirmed you're 18 or over (and, if you provided it, a date of birth used only to check age).
- Basic technical data — the minimum needed to run and secure the service (e.g. session and error logs).
What we use it for
To create and secure your account, provide the predictions and tools, remember your follows and bets, process your subscription, keep the service reliable, and meet our legal obligations (including 18+ requirements). We do not sell your personal information.
Where your data is stored
Your account and usage data is stored on servers located in Australia. We keep the core of your information on our own Australian infrastructure rather than shipping it offshore. Where a supporting provider (below) processes limited data, we use reputable providers and only share the minimum needed for that task.
Sharing
We share personal information only with the service providers that help us run VectorOdds, and only as needed for them to do that work — or where the law requires it. These supporting services include:
- Payments — our payment processor handles your subscription billing. Your card details are entered directly with them and are never stored on our servers; we only receive a record that a payment succeeded and your plan status.
- Email delivery — an email provider sends account and service emails (for example verification, receipts and notifications) to the address you gave us.
- Hosting & infrastructure — the Australian hosting that runs the service.
Some of these providers may process limited data on their own systems to deliver their service. We do not sell your personal information. Racing data (form, odds, results) comes from third-party data providers and is not personal information about you.
Security & retention
Passwords are hashed, and access is limited to what's needed to operate the service. We keep your information while your account is active and for as long as we're required to afterwards, then delete or de-identify it.
Your choices
You can view and update your profile in the app, and you can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information — email hello@vectorodds.com.au. You can close your account at any time.
Changes
We'll update this policy as the product changes and note the date below.
