Wagga is the racing and training centre of the Riverina, and the Murrumbidgee Turf Club's course proper is a wide-open triangle with well-cambered bends and a long run home. Chutes feed several of the starts, so most trips get a long straight run before the first turn — the opposite of a track that punishes a wide draw. An inner circuit, Riverside, shares the site and races separately.
