About this course

clockwise

Roma races at Bassett Park, north of the town, on an all-weather sand surface rather than the grass its own club's name suggests — the current course opened in the late nineteen-sixties to replace an older black-soil track closer to town. The Roma Turf Club itself formed from the merger of three smaller local clubs.

Racing is clockwise in QLD. Fields have averaged 8.4 runners over the 61 races in our database, with 1200 metres the trip it programs most often. B.G.Waldron has 11 wins from 45 runners here, and Replica has won 2 of 2 starts.
