About this course

Newcastle races at Broadmeadow, in the middle of the city, on ground the jockey club took over from the old Australian Agricultural Company early last century. It is the largest provincial club in NSW and the track is built to match — a full-sized circuit with a long back straight and a generous run home, closer in scale to a metropolitan course than to most of its grade.
