Forbes has a genuinely balanced shape: the home straight and the back straight run to almost the same length, which is unusual — most courses favour one or the other. The Jockey Club runs only two meetings a year, and the Forbes Cup in August is comfortably the bigger of the two.

Racing is clockwise in NSW. We hold 22 races from the course, with fields averaging 10.4 runners and 1400 metres the most commonly programmed trip. M.D.Griffith has 2 wins from 5 runners here.
