Carnarvon races on the Gascoyne coast, a very long way north of Perth, with the Indian Ocean on one side and the Browns Range behind. It is among the larger circuits in WA and is often said to resemble Flemington in its shape. Racing here is a country affair on Dirt, run anticlockwise, and the meetings are as much regional occasions as race days.
