Turf

Barcaldine has raced since the eighteen-nineties in Queensland's central west, and by the early nineteen-hundreds the course carried a grandstand the local paper thought worthy of the region's chief town. It has been a fixture of central Queensland racing ever since, on a country calendar of a few meetings a year.
